Fairtrade
Not all trade is fair, farmers and workers at the beginning of global supply chains don’t always get a fair share of the benefits of trade. Fairtrade is about better prices, decent working conditions and fair terms of trade for farmers and workers. It’s about supporting the development of thriving farming and worker communities that have more control over their futures and protecting the environment in which they live and work. And it’s your opportunity to connect with the people who grow the produce that we all depend on.
Fairtrade cotton is produced to meet Fairtrade social, economic and environmental standards, these include protection of workers’ rights and the environment, payment of the Fairtrade Minimum Price and an additional Fairtrade Premium to invest in business or community projects. In addition Fairtrade cotton standards prohibit the use of genetically modified seeds in production.
They also ensure that every operator in the textile supply chain that takes ownership of the Fairtrade Certified Cotton complies with 11 international Labour Organisation conventions. Prairie is proud to be committed to this supply chain and committed to its environmental and social standards. When you choose Prairie Tees, you can do so with confidence in our values, as well as our styles.
